106 House Republicans attempted to defund the office of Vice President Kamala Harris, citing her incompetence in securing the border.

The amendment did not pass, but reflects a shifting attitude among members of Congress.

“I’m sure you’ll be shocked, but I just had to debate a Republican on the House floor who was defending funding the Office of the Vice President,” Rep. Mike Collins said. (Trending: Is It Time For Joe Biden To Drop Out Of 2024?)

I argued Kamala Harris sucks at securing our border and, therefore, shouldn’t be paid. If my amendment passes, her office will be defunded,” Collins (R-GA) posted on X.

Another amendment to cut Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg’s salary to $1 was approved.

These measures, however, are unlikely to be implemented and will face major opposition in the Senate. (Trending: CNN Poll Is Bad News For Biden)

The Republicans behind these amendments are representing the will of their constituents and believe that government officials should fulfill their duties.

There is a generally negative attitude towards these measures, but lawmakers have acknowledged that Harris’s polling undeniably reflects her unpopularity.
