Former President Trump took the stand in a civil trial brought by New York Attorney General Letitia James, accusing Trump of fraud and misrepresentation in financial statements.

Trump called the trial a “disgrace” and accused James of political motives.

“We shouldn’t be having a case here because we have a disclaimer clause that every court holds up except this judge,” Trump said. (Trending: Donald Trump Loses His Cool At High-Stakes $250 Million Trial)

“They’re trying to hurt me – especially her,” Trump pressed, referencing James, “for political reasons.”

“This is a political witch hunt, and she should be ashamed of herself,” Trump said. “The fraud is her.”

He defended his assets’ valuation, and heavily criticized the judge’s ruling.

“I think this case is a disgrace,” he said, emphasizing that New Yorkers are being “murdered” as James is “watching this case.”

“It’s a disgrace. It is election interference because you want to keep me in court all day long,” Trump stated following hours of testimony. “And Judge … I want a jury.”

When asked about the terms of one particular loan, Trump said, “This loan was paid off in full, with no default, no victims. The loan was paid off in full, the bank was thrilled … the bank liked me very much … the loan is since gone.”

When pressed as to why the loan was paid off prematurely, Trump said, “Because we have a lot of cash. … My son [Eric] recommended it and I said, ‘Do what you want to do.’” (Trending: Federal Court Rules Against Gun Owners)

Trump’s attorney praised his testimony, while Trump maintained his net worth exceeded the financial statements.

“An absolutely brilliant performance by President Trump. He’s not backing down. He’s told everyone the facts,” the lawyer said. “Now that the American people know what’s going on, maybe something will change.”

The trial, which denies the right to a jury, has been marked by confrontations between Trump’s legal team and the judge.

“The numbers of my net worth are far more than the financial statement,” Trump said later on.

“Therefore, you have no case.”
