Former senior adviser for Barack Obama, David Axelrod, suggested that Joe Biden should consider dropping out of the 2024 presidential race following a poll showing him trailing former President Trump in several battleground states.
Axelrod expressed concerns about the impact of Biden’s poll numbers on the Democratic Party and the country, despite acknowledging Biden’s accomplishments and the dangers posed by Trump.

Emphasizing that the President is “justly proud of his accomplishments,” Axelrod pressed that Biden’s numbers are likely to “send tremors of doubt” throughout the Party.
“Trump is a dangerous, unhinged demagogue whose brazen disdain for the rules, [norms], laws and institutions or democracy should be disqualifying,” Axelrod wrote separately. “But the stakes of miscalculation here are too dramatic to ignore.”
“Only @JoeBiden can make this decision,” he added. “If he continues to run, he will be the nominee of the Democratic Party. What he needs to decide is whether that is wise; whether it’s in HIS best interest or the country’s?” (Trending: Federal Court Rules Against Gun Owners)
The poll results have raised doubts about Biden’s chances, with some Democrats calling for him to pass the torch to the next generation, while others still believe in his potential for victory.
