Matthew Perry, known for his role in the TV show “Friends,” was found deceased in a hot tub at his home in Pacific Palisades.

Los Angeles City Firefighters confirmed that he was already deceased when they arrived.

First responders found “an adult male unconscious in a stand-alone hot tub,” public information officer Erik Scott explained.

“A bystander had brought the man’s head above the water and gotten him to the edge, then firefighters removed him from the water,” his statement read.

“A rapid medical assessment, sadly, revealed the man was deceased prior to first responder arrival. The circumstances are under investigation by LAPD and the LA County Medical Examiner.”
“We mourn with families and friends who lose a loved one unexpectedly,” the statement added.

The cause of death is under investigation, but law enforcement sources have indicated that it appears to be a drowning.

An autopsy has been completed, and toxicology results are pending.

Perry’s family expressed their heartbreak and gratitude for the support from fans.

Perry’s family said, “We are heartbroken by the tragic loss of our beloved son and brother… Matthew brought so much joy to the world, both as an actor and a friend.” They also referenced his fans, sharing, “You all meant so much to him and we appreciate the tremendous outpouring of love.”
