Shannon Watts, founder of Moms Demand Action, criticized the lack of gun control in Maine following a shooting incident.
Watts highlighted the absence of background checks, red flag laws, restrictions on domestic abusers, assault weapons bans, magazine capacity limits, concealed carry permits, and open carry restrictions in Maine.
In June, the @NRA celebrated Maine’s “pro-gun” legislature for striking down a bill that would require a 72-hour hold on gun sales. It’s a law one Missouri mom wants enacted here but Dems say it’s impossible due to the Republican stronghold. Watch👇

However, it was not mentioned that California, which has all these gun controls, led the nation in active shooter incidents in 2021.
Watts tweeted, “MAINE DOES NOT: Require background checks on all gun sales. Have a red flag law. Prevent domestic abusers from accessing guns. Ban assault weapons. Limit magazine capacity. Require concealed carry permits. Restrict open carry.”
Watts’ criticism was made without knowledge of how the attacker obtained their gun(s).
