Donald Trump has thrown his support behind House GOP efforts to impeach President Joe Biden.
Trump has reportedly been actively engaged with key party leaders leading up to the announcement of a formal impeachment inquiry.
Trump has maintained regular communication with Elise Stefanik, the House GOP Conference Chair and the first Republican leader to endorse impeachment.
House Republicans have been investigating the President for 9 months, and they've turned up no evidence of wrongdoing
His own GOP members have said so
He vowed to hold a vote to open impeachment, now he flip flopped because he doesn't have support

Stefanik has also been mentioned as a potential vice-presidential candidate if Trump secures the GOP nomination.
During a dinner gathering at his Bedminster, New Jersey golf club, Trump met with his supporter Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene about the impeachment.
He also posted, “Either IMPEACH the BUM, or fade into OBLIVION. THEY DID IT TO US.”
His active role in urging House Republicans to advance the impeachment process highlights his lasting sway within the party, making him the probable presidential nominee.
House Speaker Kevin McCarthy has urged President Joe Biden to cooperate in the impeachment inquiry.
“I would encourage the president and his team to fully cooperate with this investigation in the interest of transparency,” McCarthy said. “We are committed to getting the answers for the American public, nothing more, nothing less.”
McCarthy said “allegations of abuse of power, obstruction, and corruption,” saying they “warrant further investigation by the House of Representatives.” (Trending: TV Host Blows Trump Case Wide Open)
McCarthy raised concerns, stating that over 150 transactions, allegedly involving the Biden family and business associates, have been flagged by banks as suspicious.
McCarthy added “Biden did lie to the American people about his own knowledge of his family’s foreign business dealings.”
“This logical next step will give our committees the full power to gather all the facts and answers for the American public. It’s exactly what we want to know: the answers,” McCarthy said. “I believe the president would want to answer these questions and allegations, as well.”
“Eyewitnesses have testified that the president joined on multiple phone calls and had multiple interactions. Dinners resulted in cars and millions of dollars into his son and his son’s business partners,” he said. McCarthy contends that Biden used his office as vice president “to coordinate with Hunter Biden’s business partners” and “about Hunter’s role in Burisma.” (Trending: Megyn Kelly Reveals Medical Diagnosis After Getting Jab)
The White House countered McCarthy’s stance through Ian Sams, the spokesperson for Oversight and Investigations, who criticized the inquiry as “extreme politics at its worst” in a post on X.
