A young Kansas City Chiefs fan was accused of racism by a Deadspin writer, Carron Phillips, for wearing a Native American headdress and face paint in the team’s colors.
Phillips’ presentation of the child and Deadspin’s editorial discretion have been criticized in response to the post.
Critics continue to raise concerns about the impact of such defamatory accusations on a minor and the lack of response from Deadspin’s editor-in-chief. (Trending: Donald Trump Confronts Bud Light CEO)

“While it isn’t the league’s responsibility to stop racism and hate from being taught in the home,” wrote Phillips.
“They are a league that has relentlessly participated in prejudice,” alleged the activist/reporter.
“If the NFL had outlawed the chop at Chiefs games and been more aggressive in changing the team’s name, then we wouldn’t be here,” mourned Phillips.
