At a Trump rally in Wildwood, New Jersey, NFL legends Lawrence Taylor and Ottis Anderson spoke in support of the former president.
Taylor, a Hall of Fame linebacker, said he had always voted Democrat until meeting Trump, and that no one in his family would vote Democrat again.
“I just wanted to say, I grew up a Democrat and I’ve always been a Democrat until I met this man right here,” Taylor said. “He will not have to worry about nobody in my family ever voting for a Democrat again.”
Anderson also praised Trump while on stage with Taylor.
Their endorsements of Trump in front of the massive crowd of nearly 100,000 people highlight the former president’s continued popularity and ability to attract high-profile supporters.
“Don’t you just love that guy? Don’t you just love that guy?” Anderson said. “I tell you, it has been a very exciting day. You guys, not one person left here, you’re still here yelling and screaming.”
Trump has expressed optimism he can flip New Jersey Republican for the first time since 1988, buoyed by rallies that draw huge crowds to traditionally Democratic strongholds like the Jersey shore town of Wildwood.
