Republican Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene argued that Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) programs in Georgia must be defunded, citing a report that a training program in the Fulton County District Attorney’s office required labeling white people as “bad”.
Rep. Greene called on Republicans who control the state legislature to take action.
Rep. Greene said, “There should be no funding for DEI — period — on the state level in Georgia.”
“Our Republicans in Georgia can do something about this,” said Greene.
She asserted that DEI programs are racist and do not truly protect minorities.
Greene said, “These people [Democrats] are the true racists, and this is pure racism.”
“It’s not protecting minorities. It’s not protecting black people from being mistreated in any way whatsoever,” she continued.
The report described a training exercise that would not allow employees to complete it until associating a photo of a white person with the word “bad”.
Greene said this was an example of racism within such programs.
Greene said, “It’s racism. That’s how they are training people apparently in the Fulton County DA office.”
