A woman reported to 911 that a naked man had entered the women’s locker room at a Planet Fitness gym in North Carolina.

The caller said the man, later identified as 38-year-old Christopher Miller, had stripped completely naked in front of her and other women and was walking around displaying himself, though he identified as a female.

“This is not an emergency, it’s just that me and my friend, we’re all, you know not minors, but we were just flashed by a man in the bathroom,” the caller said. “And my parents told me to call to report it.”

“Yeah, he’s still in the bathroom. It’s a man. But he says he identifies as a woman, and he won’t leave the restroom,” the caller said.

“He’s just walking around showing us his [expletive], but he won’t leave,” she added.

“And what’s he wearing?” the operator asked.

“Nothing. Literally nothing,” the caller said.

“Okay, so he is completely naked?,” the operator asked.

“He’s completely naked,” the caller said.

Miller was subsequently arrested for indecent exposure.

While Planet Fitness’ policy allows access to facilities based on gender identity, the incident highlighted ongoing debates around balancing inclusion and the safety and privacy concerns of other gym patrons.

“At Planet Fitness, the safety of our employees and members is our top priority, and we have zero tolerance for harassment of any kind in our clubs,” said McCall Gosselin, Chief Corporate Affairs Officer at Planet Fitness. “We took immediate action to ensure the safety of club members, including notifying and working with law enforcement.”
