Former President Donald Trump issued a statement in support of Israel following Iran’s launch of long-range drones against the country over the weekend.
In a post on Truth Social, Trump emphasized that the attack on Israel would not have happened if he were still president.
Trump wrote, “ISRAEL IS UNDER ATTACK! This should never have been allowed to happen – This would NEVER have happened if I were President!”
Iran’s drone assault on Israel reportedly came in retaliation for an earlier Israeli airstrike in Syria that killed senior Iranian military officials.
Trump’s statement of support for Israel came just before he was scheduled to speak at a rally in Pennsylvania.
