A recent Morning Consult poll found former President Donald Trump leading President Joe Biden by one point in a hypothetical 2024 matchup.
The poll of over 6,000 registered voters showed 44% would vote for Trump and 43% for Biden, with 8% choosing someone else.
Trump led among Republicans 90-4 and independents 36-34, while Biden led Democrats 86-6.
Among 2020 voters, 90% of Trump voters and 83% of Biden voters said they would vote the same.
Other polls show Trump gaining support among young voters, leading Biden by 2 points among millennials/Gen Z in one poll, and by 18 points among those under 30 in another.
Biden still led among older voters by margins of 2 points in one poll and 6 points in another for those aged 45 and up.
The polls indicate a close 2024 race with Trump making inroads with younger groups.
