Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez appeared on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert to promote President Biden’s student loan bailout plan.

She touted that the plan, which will transfer billions in student debt to taxpayers, will allow recipients to “travel abroad.”

“Thirty million student loan borrowers are going to start seeing relief,” AOC said.

The CBS audience applauded enthusiastically.

When asked if she would benefit, AOC said, “Waitress me five years ago would have benefited from it.”

She said the bailout offers “hope” for home buying, kids, travel, and further education.

Colbert offered no pushback against saddling taxpayers with the costs.

The bailout is seen as an attempt to win back young voters who have become alienated from Biden, especially over his Israel policy, and may sit out the midterms, a risk for Democrats.
