Late night host Seth Meyers expressed concern that Joe Biden’s failure to achieve a ceasefire in Gaza as promised could alienate Democratic voters in key states and risk a Trump victory.
Meyers noted Biden had vowed to push for a ceasefire during an appearance on his show in February but has not delivered.
“[Voters] are understandably upset Biden keeps claiming he’s frustrated with Netanyahu’s handling of the war, while simultaneously sending more weapons to support that war against the wishes of a majority of Americans,” Meyers said.
Seth Meyers criticizes Biden for saying in late February that he was still “hopeful” for a ceasefire in Gaza:
“What do you mean you're 'hopeful'? … You're the president. You can just say, no more funding, no more weapons, you call for a ceasefire.” pic.twitter.com/SkWcI2CXnQ

He criticized Biden for claiming frustration with Netanyahu yet continuing weapons support against public opinion.
Meyers argued Biden should demand no further funding or weapons as most Americans want and referenced protest votes in Michigan and Wisconsin by Arab and Muslim voters angry over Biden’s Israel policy.
“I remember him saying that because, despite my best efforts, I was standing right [expletive] there,” Meyers said.
The “#AbandonBiden” movement opposing his stance is gaining traction among young, anti-Israel voters of all races and poses a threat if Biden does not heed calls for an immediate ceasefire as these voters demand.
Meyers warned Biden risks losing to “someone whose presidency was a disaster.”
“You’re the president. You can just say, ‘No more funding. No more weapons.’ You can call for a ceasefire—that’s what a majority of Americans want, including the tens of thousands of Democrats who are registering protest votes in key battleground states,” he said.
“There must be an immediate lasting ceasefire and the safe return of all hostages,” Meyers said. “That’s the loud and clear message of these protest votes, and Biden must listen, otherwise he’s at risk of losing to someone whose presidency was a [complete disaster].”
