Seth Meyers mocked Donald Trump Jr.’s fundraising email claiming New York Attorney General Letitia James was trying to seize Trump Tower, calling it his “boyhood home.”
Meyers said it was weird to call such an iconic skyscraper home, joking that “it’s not a shack on the banks of the Mississippi” and “it has a restaurant in the lobby.”
“Boyhood home? It’s not a shack on the banks of the Mississippi,” Meyers joked.
“It’s weird to call something your boyhood home when it has a restaurant in the lobby,” he added.
Trump Jr. had asked for donations to protect his father’s assets from James, who had won a court ruling for Trump to pay $175 million by a deadline or face seizure of properties like Trump Tower to collect on a civil fraud judgment.
“Friend, the radical anti-Trump Attorney General in New York wanted to seize my boyhood home. She wanted to get her hands on Trump Tower, and take control of one of the most iconic buildings in American history,” an email read.
Meyers ridiculed Trump Jr.’s attempt to portray the luxury high-rise as a sentimental family residence.
