Reports indicate veteran investigative journalist Catherine Herridge is in discussions to potentially lead a new investigative unit at Twitter under Elon Musk.

She met with Twitter CEO Linda Yaccarino earlier this month to discuss opportunities.

“We are in discussions with many content creators who are interested in joining X in various ways. Catherine Herridge is a great journalist who strongly supports free speech,” X stated.

Herridge previously worked at CBS News but departed amid layoffs in February.

“Herridge is weighing a number of opportunities,” one source noted.

Her reporting on Hunter Biden’s laptop and other stories unfavorable to Democrats had attracted attention.

When leaving CBS, the network unusually confiscated her files and devices, alarming colleagues given her sources.

She was also found in contempt for refusing to disclose sources to the FBI in an ongoing case.

Joining Musk’s Twitter could allow Herridge to continue her impactful investigative reporting while supporting free speech, though talks remain preliminary.

The move would see her take on a leadership role developing a new team at the platform.
