Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy raised $1.5 million for the family of slain NYPD officer Jonathan Diller through donations on his social media platforms.
Portnoy pledged to match the $750,000 that was donated.
“Thanks to everybody who donated. We raised 750k. With the matching of the funds that brings the total to 1.5 million that will go directly to the family,” Portnoy wrote on X.

Officer Diller, age 31, was fatally shot during a traffic stop on March 25th while trying to remove a passenger, Guy Rivera, from the vehicle after Rivera refused orders to exit.
As Diller attempted to pull Rivera out, Rivera shot Diller just below his bulletproof vest.
Diller still managed to disarm Rivera and prevent him from regaining the firearm before his partner shot Rivera, who is now hospitalized.
Diller leaves behind a wife and young son.
