Lizzo announced she was quitting music after feeling constantly criticized for her appearance and dragged for performing at a Biden fundraiser.
The announcement shocked fans. Meanwhile, Lizzo is facing a lawsuit from former backup dancers accusing her of sexual harassment and creating a hostile work environment.

“I’m getting tired of putting up with being dragged by everyone in my life and on the internet,” Lizzo wrote. “All I want is to make music and make people happy and help the world be a little better than how I found it.”
“But I’m starting to feel like the world doesn’t want me in it,” she added. “I’m constantly up against lies being told about me for clout & views… being the butt of the joke every single time because of how I look.”
“My character being picked apart by people who don’t know me and disrespecting my name,” she added. “I didn’t sign up for this [expletive]. I quit.”
At the Biden fundraiser, one of the dancer’s attorneys slammed Lizzo being chosen given the allegations.
“It’s shameful that Lizzo would be chosen to headline an event like this amid such egregious allegations,” attorney Ron Zambrano said.
“Without getting into the politics, I can’t imagine why anyone would want Lizzo representing them in any way, given her reprehensible behavior. It’s just a terrible look.”
On social media, fans begged Lizzo not to quit, saying she inspires many, while conservatives mocked the announcement.
“NEW: Lizzo has just announced she is QUITTING music after being clowned online for performing at the Biden Obama Clinton fundraiser in NYC,” Nick Sortor said. “Y’all are a bunch of bullies,” he quipped.
