A judge recommended disbarring John Eastman, a former lawyer for Donald Trump, for advice he gave during efforts to challenge the 2020 election results.
The judge argued Eastman’s position on contesting the Electoral College vote would be “unanimously rejected” by the Supreme Court, echoing testimony that Eastman thought the Court would rule 7-2 against but would actually lose 9-0.
However, critics argued that Democrats who tried invalidating Trump’s candidacy in 2024 and their lawyers should also face disbarment if Eastman is punished.
So Democrat attorneys must now face disbarment after the 9-0 Supreme Court ended their “fringe legal effort” to disqualify Trump? https://t.co/QwkEQMBt8A

This included Colorado officials who excluded Trump from the ballot over “insurrection,” which the Supreme Court unanimously rejected.
The critics claimed this was a more direct attack than anything Trump’s team sought to do by asking legislatures to ensure vote counts were correct.
