Meghan Markle is expanding her lifestyle brand American Riviera Orchard through new trademark applications as the royal family deals with health issues.
Markle filed to broaden the brand into cosmetics, gardening tools, and other goods.
This comes as King Charles III and Princess Kate Middleton both receive cancer treatment.
In February, the Palace announced Charles’ diagnosis after a procedure found prostate cancer.
“During The King’s recent hospital procedure for benign prostate enlargement, a separate issue of concern was noted,” Buckingham Palace stated. “Subsequent diagnostic tests have identified a form of cancer.”
In March, Kate revealed she is undergoing chemotherapy for cancer discovered during abdominal surgery.
While Kate focuses on recovery, Markle is growing her brand portfolio through trademark applications for textiles, food items, cookbooks, and retail space under the American Riviera Orchard name without providing details.
“It has been an incredibly tough couple of months for our entire family, but I’ve had a fantastic medical team who have taken great care of me, for which I am so grateful,” Princess Kate said.
“The Princess will return to official duties when she is cleared to do so by her medical team,” a Kensington Palace spokesperson stated. “She is in good spirits and is focused on making a full recovery.”
The duchess and Harry expressed private support for Kate and her family during this difficult time.
“We wish health and healing for Kate and the family, and hope they are able to do so privately and in peace,” a spokesperson for the Sussexes stated.
