Senate Democrats blocked Republican amendments to a government funding bill that aimed to increase transparency and restrictions around President Biden’s transport of migrants within the U.S.
One amendment would have prevented taxpayer funding for flights of migrants into the country through Biden’s CBP One app, in response to reports of over 320,000 flown into airports in 2023 alone.
“Make no mistake: President Biden has been secretly flying hundreds of thousands of illegal aliens from foreign countries into blue-city airports,” Sen. Bill Hagerty said.
“Reportedly 320,000 in 2023 alone. Americans are shocked this is happening, and a ‘yes’ vote will stop it. A ‘no’ vote means you are voting to preserve Biden’s egregious scheme to import hundreds of thousands of illegal aliens each year through airports across America.”
Senators Hagerty and Ted Budd also offered amendments to block migrants convicted of assaulting law enforcement or theft from obtaining citizenship, but Democrats voted down all proposals.
The votes allowed Biden’s administration to continue its migrant transport program without new disclosure requirements or restrictions on certain criminal migrants.
