Elon Musk mocked Senator Elizabeth Warren as “Senator Karen Pocahontas” after she criticized billionaires like Musk and Bezos for paying less in taxes than teachers.
Warren has long struggled to explain claiming Native American heritage early in her career.
“Jeff Bezos. Elon Musk. Michael Bloomberg. What’s the thing they all have in common? They all pay less in tax than a Boston public school teacher. That’s not right. And it is why President Biden is taking on the billionaires,” Warren said.

“Senator Karen Pocahontas,” Musk wrote.
Though she released a video acknowledging a small fraction of Native ancestry, former President Trump frequently mocked her as “Pocahontas.”
“You are very, very special people. You were here long before any of us were here, although we have a representative in Congress who they say was here a long time ago. They call her Pocahontas,” Trump said in 2017.
Warren, who ran unsuccessfully for president in 2020, has seen her popularity wane in Massachusetts.
She faces a competitive reelection bid in November against challengers like crypto businessman John Deaton, who launched his campaign earlier this month.
Musk firing back at Warren renewed scrutiny of her past claims and ongoing efforts to tax large companies, underscoring the partisan divide over these issues ahead of the midterms.
