13 Democratic state attorneys general wrote a letter to Glock referencing Chicago’s lawsuit against the gun maker over “machine-gun Glocks”.
Chicago claims Glock is liable for the ease of converting semiautomatic Glocks to fully automatic using “Glock switches”.
The AGs want Glock to preserve documents related to the conversion of Glocks to automatic, their semiautomatic design, knowledge of laws on switches and converted machine guns, financial info including profits, and marketing.
The letter comes after reports that Chinese companies, regulated by China’s government, are flooding the US with illegal auto sear switches that can convert handguns to machine guns in boxes of thousands.
Chicago’s lawsuit points to China as a source of switches but doesn’t explain China’s alleged commitment to saturating the US with them.
