The executive director of the Clinton National Airport in Little Rock, Arkansas, Bryan Malinowski, was critically wounded in a shooting during a raid of his home by ATF agents executing a search warrant.
Malinowski, 53, was shot in the head and is currently on life support at a local hospital after the early morning confrontation, with his prognosis unclear.
“We don’t know if he’s going to make it in the next 24 hours,” Matthew Malinowski said. “He was shot in the head.”
An ATF agent also suffered non-life threatening injuries.
“When someone makes that much money, there’s no incentive to do anything wrong. He has so much to lose,” he said.
Neighbors reported hearing loud bangs and saw authorities removing guns and ammunition from the property.
“My heart was racing and the dogs were barking. I’m just really curious as to what was going on just a few houses down.” neighbor Shea De Bruyn said, “I talked to other neighbors and all of us are just confused.”
“I’ve only heard good things about the lady that lives there, and it’s just sad to hear that this has happened,” De Bruyn said.
Malinowski’s brother said he was unaware of any illicit activity given his brother’s successful career and salary.
The circumstances of the initial shooting remain undisclosed and the case is under investigation to determine if deadly force was warranted, while Malinowski’s condition remains critical.
