Rep. Lauren Boebert voted against a government funding bill that included over $20 million for her Colorado district, but then celebrated the funding.
The bill contained earmarks she had secured for projects in her district. While historically opposing earmarks, she backed them last year.
“Can’t wait for the ribbon cuttings and to see these priorities come to fruition,” she said.
The #SwampOmnibus maintains COVID spending levels, funds the Green New Deal, and excludes nearly all conservative policy riders we fought for.

She is now in a tough primary race in a new district she moved to, facing accusations of “carpetbagging.”
If she loses the primary, she may not be in office when the funded projects are completed.
Her celebrating funding she opposed illustrates criticism of the “vote no, take the dough” tactic some use to please different constituencies.
Her shifting positions on earmarks and complex primary situation could undermine her with voters.
