Kansas City Chiefs kicker Harrison Butker discussed meeting Taylor Swift at a New Year’s party after the Chiefs clinched their division.
Butker said Swift was humble and gracious in their interaction, expressing astonishment at how far he could kick a football despite not growing up around the sport.
While Butker admitted being nervous to meet the pop star, he expressed hope that Swift and her frequent companion Travis Kelce of the Chiefs would get married and start a family together.
“I wouldn’t say I’m a ‘Swiftie’ but I got to meet her after our New Year’s game,” Butker said. “We had just clinched the AFC West – and I rarely go out ever. But it’s New Year’s, gotta get the champagne and enjoy the ball dropping and all of that stuff. Kelce and Swift have spent significant time together since the 2023 NFL season, with Kelce supporting Swift on tour stops in Australia and Singapore before returning to attend his brother’s retirement announcement.
