Elon Musk discussed his prescribed use of ketamine with Don Lemon, saying it alleviates periods of low mood for the benefit of his role leading Tesla and other companies.
Musk said doctors prescribe him ketamine periodically to treat symptoms of depression.
For Wall Street, “what matters is execution,” Musk said. “From an investor standpoint, if there is something I’m taking, I should keep taking it,” he said.
He denied recreational usage after reports of concerns from his company executives.
Ketamine can be prescribed to treat pain and depression when administered properly in a medical setting, but higher doses cause hallucinations and overdosing risks.
The interview itself became a point of contention, as Musk’s Twitter-like platform X later canceled a partnership with Lemon.
