With Biden struggling in polls ahead of the midterms against Trump, Vice President Kamala Harris has ramped up campaigning efforts.
She hit the trail in her home state of California, framing the election as a choice between freedom and dictatorship.
“This is literally about our democracy,” Harris said.
“As a role model, people watch what you do, to see if it lines up with what you say,” she said. “So the world is watching this election, not to mention the profound stakes that the American people have in the outcome of this November.” (Trending: New Bombshell FBI Docs Blow Trump Case Wide Open)
However, Harris has faced criticism for failing to differentiate her leadership as some voters are dissatisfied with Biden due to his age, support for Israel, and opposition to calls for ceasefire in Gaza.
“The American people are struggling under the weight of Bidenflation,” California Republican Party Chair Jessica Millan Patterson stated.
“Millions of illegal crossings through our open Southern border have turned every state into a border state. Disastrous foreign policy has weakened our nation on the world stage. Our communities are less safe as crime continues to run rampant. Our children are struggling in failing schools,” Patterson said. “This November, the American people will finally retire Joe Biden and his disastrous record once and for all.”
Additional polls showed Biden trailing Trump on most issues and trustworthiness.
As inflation, the economy, immigration and crime concerns rise, Biden’s prospects for reelection in his rematch with Trump appear increasingly uncertain eight months out.
Harris is aiming to boost support for the Biden administration amid volatile public opinion.
