Kellyanne Conway is lobbying Congress on behalf of ByteDance, the Chinese parent company of TikTok, against banning the app in the U.S.

This comes as Congress moves closer to passing legislation requiring the sale of TikTok due to national security concerns over its ties to China.

Conway argues banning TikTok would alienate its many U.S. users and that there are more important issues to address regarding China.

“If you want to hold China accountable, why are you starting with TikTok, and not the origins of the COVID crisis, the fentanyl crisis, the persecution of Uyghurs, and the vulnerability of Taiwan,” she said.

Her efforts are supported by a ByteDance investor and donors to her group.

While former President Trump initially sought to ban TikTok, he now opposes it, arguing it would benefit Facebook.

“If you get rid of TikTok, Facebook and Zuckerschmuck will double their business,” Trump said.

“I don’t want Facebook, who cheated in the last Election, doing better. They are a true Enemy of the People!” he said.

However, others warn TikTok is being used by China as a “Trojan horse” for propaganda and influencing American youth.

“I don’t get the rush to do it in the middle of an election year when we are making tremendous progress with Gen-Z,” Trump strategist Alex Bruesewitz said.

“MAGA content does very well on TikTok. And Meta is suppressing MAGA content on both Facebook and Instagram,” Bruesewitz added.

“Anyone lobbying for TikTok and helping advance the goals of the Chinese Communist Party should have to file with DoJ as a Foriegn [sic] Agent,” former Trump White House press secretary Sean Spicer said.

Congress remains poised to pass a bill forcing the sale of TikTok.
