At a rally to support a Senate candidate, former President Trump denounced some undocumented immigrants as “not people” and warned of a “bloodbath” if he is not reelected.
He predicted economic troubles if Biden wins and suggested steep tariffs.
“I don’t know if you call them people,” Trump said. “In some cases they’re not people, in my opinion. But I’m not allowed to say that because the radical left says that’s a terrible thing to say.”
“If I don’t get elected, it’s going to be a blood bath for the whole — that’s going to be the least of it. It’s going to be a blood bath for the country,” Trump said.
Trump’s comments echoed his past use of inflammatory language about immigrants.
The Biden campaign condemned the remarks as promoting political violence.
“He wants another January 6, but the American people are going to give him another electoral defeat this November because they continue to reject his extremism, his affection for violence, and his thirst for revenge,” Biden campaign spokesperson James Singer stated.
Trump was campaigning in a tight Ohio Republican Senate primary expected to be very close.
His language on immigrants has previously drawn comparisons to Hitler and concerns over inflaming tensions, though he has denied such intentions.
