Trump doubled down on calls for Liz Cheney to be prosecuted over allegations she withheld evidence from the Jan. 6 committee investigation.

Cheney shot back that Trump knows these are lies and is afraid of the truth coming out in his upcoming Jan. 6 trial, where former White House aides and officials are expected to testify against him.

“SHE SHOULD BE PROSECUTED FOR WHAT SHE HAS DONE TO OUR COUNTRY! SHE ILLEGALLY DESTROYED THE EVIDENCE. UNREAL!!!” Trump wrote.

“Hi Donald: you know these are lies. You have had all the grand jury & J6 transcripts for many months. You’re trying to halt your 1/6 trial because your VP, WH counsel, WH aides, campaign & DOJ officials etc. will testify against you. You’re afraid of the truth and you should be,” Cheney said.

Their exchange comes after House Republicans released a new report attempting to discredit the Jan. 6 probe and clear Trump, focusing on disputed testimony from a former Trump car driver.

Their public feud continues the partisan battle over assigning responsibility for the Capitol attack as Trump eyes another presidential run.
