Donald Trump’s lawyer Steve Sadow criticized a judge’s ruling in the Georgia election interference case that will allow the lead prosecutor Fani Willis to remain on the case despite her acknowledged romantic relationship with a fellow prosecutor.

The judge found their relationship only posed an “appearance of impropriety” rather than an actual conflict, meaning Willis could stay if her ex-lover is removed from the case.

Trump’s lawyer argued the judge did not properly address prosecutorial misconduct claims regarding financial benefits, untruthful testimony about the relationship’s start, and Willis playing the “race card” against the defendants.

Sadow noted that McAfee “did not afford appropriate significance to the prosecutorial misconduct of Willis and Wade,” citing “financial benefits, testifying untruthfully about when their personal relationship began, as well as Willis’ extrajudicial MLK ‘church speech,’ where she played the race card and falsely accused the defendants and their counsel of racism.”

“We will use all legal options available as we continue to fight to end this case, which should never have been brought in the first place,” he added.

Others similarly panned the ruling, calling the judge a “political coward” for applying “zero logic” and twisting the law to target Trump.

“If you and I rob a bank together… Can you prosecute me and not you in court?” Matt Couch wrote on X. “This is how ridiculous this judge’s ruling is..”

“Apparently it’s OK for her to lie to the Court but nobody else,” Monica Crowley wrote. “Man, these judges and prosecutors are twisting the law beyond all recognition to get Trump.”

Civil rights attorney Leo Terrell called the ruling an “embarrassment” and that the judge punted his obligation to Willis.

Trump’s team will pursue further legal options to end the case.
