A recent Rasmussen poll shows Donald Trump defeating potential Democratic candidates for 2024, undermining arguments that Trump only does well due to Biden’s unpopularity.
Trump has expanded his lead against Biden since last month.
He also tops 50% against Gavin Newsom and Michelle Obama, demonstrating voter preference for Trump personally rather than just rejecting Biden.
This is worrying for Democrats, as it indicates voters actively want Trump back in office for four more years to continue his agenda on issues like the border wall, deporting illegal immigrants, lower taxes and opposing “woke” policies.
While one poll, it suggests Trump has energized voters tired of cultural issues launched under Obama.
He may be seen as the blunt instrument, like Reagan in 1980, to resist continued movement in that direction.
