16-year-old Missouri high school student Kaylee Gain is fighting for her life after a vicious beating at her high school.
Video shows her being repeatedly punched and having her head slammed against concrete by another girl.
“With heavy hearts I am asking for support for our beloved Kaylee and family,” family friend Sarah Hall wrote. “In minutes, this family’s life shattered when their only daughter was assaulted outside of a North County high school.”

Students left her “alone on the ground to convulse before EMTs arrived on the scene.”
Rushed to the hospital, she was diagnosed with a skull fracture and brain bleeding and swelling, and remains in critical condition.
“She has major brain bleeding and swelling and is in critical condition,” Hall said.
“Kaylee is fighting hard to stay alive and heal but this is only the beginning of a very uphill battle for Kaylee and her family. We will not know the extent of the brain damage that has occurred until she wakes up but the path to recovery will be extremely hard on the family, not only mentally but financially.”
A GoFundMe campaign was set up to help with her recovery, which is expected to be extremely difficult due to the severity of her brain injuries.
She has not yet woken up, so the full extent of the damage is unknown.
The campaign has raised over $100,000 to aid her family during this traumatic time as she battles for her life after the brutal assault.
