Multiple incidents involving Boeing aircraft have recently been the cause of extensive negative publicity for the company.
An American Airlines Boeing 777 made an emergency landing in LA due to a possible mechanical issue reported as a blown tire.
This comes after other Boeing jets lost tires in San Francisco and leaked hydraulic fluid on takeoff from that city within days.
The Justice Department has opened a criminal investigation into Boeing following the mid-air door blowout on an Alaska Airlines flight in January. In previous weeks, a United Boeing jet lost landing gear pieces and an Alaska Airlines Boeing 737 MAX jet lost a door in flight.
A former Boeing whistleblower who alleged the company cut corners on safety died by suicide while preparing to give a deposition against the company, which has caused further backlash against the organization.
“He was in very good spirits and really looking forward to putting this phase of his life behind him and moving on,” attorneys Robert Turkewitz and Brian Knowles said. “We didn’t see any indication he would take his own life. No one can believe it.”
