Country music star Luke Combs publicly criticized the Carolina Panthers for trading defensive star Brian Burns to the New York Giants, receiving only a second and fifth round pick in return.

Combs was frustrated the Panthers did not get a first round pick for Burns like they failed to for star running back Christian McCaffrey in a previous trade.

“WHAT ARE WE DOING?!?!?” Combs wrote on X.

“No first round pick for McCaffrey a few years back and now none for Burns?!?!”

Combs felt the Panthers were “fire bombing” and “slowly torturing” fans by dismantling the team without receiving proper compensation.

“Are we just fire bombing the whole team here or what? I usually don’t comment on these kinds of things but it’s just becoming slow torture at this point,” he wrote.

The Burns trade came after Carolina had already traded away its 2024 first round pick, leaving the franchise without high draft assets from multiple key player deals in recent years upsetting Combs and other Panthers supporters.
