An ad highlighting the killing of Georgia student Laken Riley by an undocumented immigrant was rejected from airing during CNN’s State of the Union coverage.
The ad criticized Biden’s immigration policies, citing how the suspected killer, Jose Ibarra, was previously arrested but not deported from New York.
“Laken Riley should have been able to go on a run in broad daylight without being murdered by an illegal immigrant,” the narrator says.

“But Joe Biden promised not to deport illegal immigrants.”
It directly quoted Biden saying no one would be jailed awaiting deportation hearings.
“No one, no one would be put in jail while waiting for their hearing,” Biden said.
CNN said the ad contained unsubstantiated claims, but the group producing it, Building America’s Future, accused CNN of censoring the truth to protect Biden.
“All ads that run on our air go through a review to ensure we are presenting factual and accurate information to our audience,” CNN stated.
At the SOTU, Biden mistakenly said “Lincoln Riley” instead of Laken Riley in response to being challenged to say her name.
Laken’s mother criticized Biden for not knowing her daughter’s name.
“This is the ad featuring Laken Riley’s story that Joe Biden and CNN don’t want you to see. They STILL refuse to #SAYHERNAME” Building America’s Future wrote.
The ad aired on Fox News and MSNBC but was rejected by CNN, leading to allegations of partisan bias at the network.
