The National Border Patrol Council mocked President Biden’s visit to the U.S.-Mexico border, depicting him napping on Air Force One and the beach instead of addressing the crisis.

The union, which endorsed Trump and has criticized Biden’s border policies, posted that Biden only read a teleprompter blaming Trump before calling it a day.

Biden had visited the same day as Trump and urged the former president to work with him on passing bipartisan immigration reform, saying it represented the most effective border security bill ever.

However, the Senate deal endorsed by the Border Patrol union previously failed due to Republican opposition.

The union, which represents over 18,000 agents, has accused Biden of throwing them “under the bus” over the border situation.

“Board AF1, take nap. Wake up in place called Brownsville. Read large teleprompter message, ‘It’s all Trump’s fault’. Board AF1, ask who people in green uniforms were, told they ‘strap’ illegal aliens, express horror, take nap. Wake up, call a lid, hit beach, take nap,” the National Border Patrol Council wrote on X.

“Dear Joe, You OWN this catastrophic disaster at the border – lock, stock and barrel. You created it. You nursed it along. You encouraged it. You facilitated it. It’s all yours. Don’t run from it now like a coward. Signed, The BP agents you’ve thrown under the bus,” the union said.

“Here’s what I would say to Mr. Trump: Instead of playing politics with the issue, instead of telling members of Congress to block this legislation, join me — or I’ll join you — in telling the Congress to pass this bipartisan border security bill. We can do it together,” Biden said.

“You know and I know it’s the toughest, most efficient, most effective border security bill this country has ever seen,” he added. “So, instead of playing politics with the issue, why don’t we just get together and get it done?”

“While not perfect, the Border Act of 2024 is a step in the right direction and is far better than the current status quo. This is why the National Border Patrol Council endorses this bill and hopes for its quick passage,” union president Brandon Judd said.
