President Biden is requesting over $13 billion from Congress to expand programs that relocate more migrants into American communities.
The funding would go to the Department of Homeland Security and State Department to aid migrants.
“The Request provides the resources necessary to fully support the refugee admissions program and will fund contributions to such organizations as the UN High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), and the International Organization for Migration (IOM) as well as other international and non-governmental organizations that address pressing humanitarian needs overseas and resettle refugees in the United States,” the document reads.

DHS Secretary Mayorkas wants $4.7 billion for border operations and $5 billion in bailouts for sanctuary cities housing migrants.
He argues this supports migrants already in the US.
The State Department requests $3.8 billion for refugee resettlement, including $1.2 billion to bring 125,000 refugees to US towns and cities.
It would also fund expansion of legal migration pathways and offices in Latin America.
The budget aims to increase the intake of Afghans, LGBT migrants, Rohingya, and Ukrainians.
Critics argue this massive migration is driven by ideology over Americans’ interests and shifts economic benefits away from citizens toward business interests while lowering wages and increasing housing costs.
