Michelle Troconis was convicted of conspiracy to commit murder and other charges in the 2019 disappearance and presumed death of Jennifer Dulos in Connecticut.
Jennifer’s estranged husband, Fotis Dulos, was the prime suspect in her murder.
Evidence showed Troconis, Fotis’ girlfriend at the time, helped dispose of evidence and provided inconsistent alibis.
She faces up to 50 years in prison. Fotis died by suicide in 2020 while awaiting trial.
The family of Jennifer Dulos said, “There can be no victory when five children are growing up without their mother.”
Attorney John Schoenhorn said, “I truly just don’t see how the jury could have reached this verdict.”
Schoenhorn said, “We’re going to challenge whether or not the trial had errors that should be reconsidered. And if not reconsidered in this court, then we’ll go to the appellate or Supreme Court.”
The case garnered widespread attention, with prosecutors arguing Troconis took part in a plot to kill Jennifer, who vanished after dropping her five children at school.
Her body was never found but she was declared legally dead, with signs of violence.
Troconis maintained her innocence and plans to appeal, while Jennifer’s family said no victory is possible without a mother for the children.
