President Biden was caught on a hot mic after his State of the Union address engaging in a conversation with Senator Michael Bennet about an upcoming meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu regarding the humanitarian crisis in Gaza.
At one point in the exchange, Biden could be heard saying, “Don’t repeat this.”
Biden indicated it would be a “come to Jesus” meeting, hinting at growing concern and a potential shift in posture.
“I’m on a hot mic here,” he said after being made aware.
“Good. That’s good.”
The phrase suggested a hardline approach. During the exchange, Bennet congratulated Biden and encouraged pressure on Netanyahu over Gaza issues.
The conflict in Gaza has presented challenges for Biden as progressives have accused him of enabling genocide and organized protest votes against him over his support for Israel, signaling a potential warning for his election hopes.
