President Biden has come under criticism for comments he made in an interview suggesting a ceasefire in the Israel-Gaza conflict would primarily benefit Hamas.

During an MSNBC interview, Biden acknowledged that Hamas would benefit more from a ceasefire, as it would allow them time to rebuild forces.

“Well, I think Hamas would like a total ceasefire across the board because they can then have a better chance to survive and maybe rebuild,” Biden said. “But that’s not what … I think the vast majority of people think.”

He then paused awkwardly before changing the subject.

Critics stated that the incident shows Biden knows a ceasefire favors Israel’s enemy but pushes it anyway for political reasons like swaying Michigan voters.

Biden’s ceasefire advocacy has been largely viewed as misguided and politically motivated, putting lives at risk to satisfy liberal egos rather than seriously pursuing security and stability.
