According to projections, the number of illegal immigrants living freely in the US and awaiting deportation by ICE will nearly triple under Biden, surpassing 8 million by the end of 2024.

ICE’s non-detained docket, which includes those not detained but awaiting deportation, was 3.2 million in 2020 but is projected to hit over 8 million by 2024 end.

Senators criticized DHS Secretary Mayorkas for the massive increase, seeking a no-confidence vote in early 2024.

Mayorkas’ plans through programs like RRM and Secure Docket Card would effectively reduce removals by allowing annual check-ins and benefits for illegal immigrants released into the US interior while in deportation proceedings.
