The co-hosts of “The View” laughed at a Fox News reporter’s repeated questioning of the White House Press Secretary about Biden potentially debating Trump in 2024.
The reporter asked if Biden remains eager to debate Trump as in 2020, receiving the consistent response to contact the campaign.
The hosts saw humor but also strategy, noting Trump’s eagerness to debate could portray Biden as unwilling to confront him.
“She’s getting better and better, man,” Sunny Hostin said.
“Thank God she’s polite. She was maintaining decorum,” Whoopi Goldberg added.
Trump has won Republican primaries and called for debates, while Biden has faced scrutiny over his mental fitness as a recent report detailed instances of memory limitations.
“It is important, for the Good of our Country, that Joe Biden and I Debate Issues that are so vital to America, and the American People. Therefore, I am calling for Debates, ANYTIME, ANYWHERE, ANYPLACE! The Debates can be run by the Corrupt DNC, or their Subsidiary, the Commission on Presidential Debates (CPD). I look forward to receiving a response. Thank you for your attention to this matter!” Trump wrote.
The 2020 debates between Trump and Biden were contentious with interruptions, and it remains to be seen if 2024 debates would similarly devolve without order or delve into specifics.
