During his State of the Union address, President Biden faced pushback from House Republicans over his calls to pass an immigration bill.

When Republicans chanted “say her name” referring to slain student Laken Riley, Biden did say her name but mispronounced it as “Lincoln Riley.”

“Say her name,” Rep. Marjorie Taylor-Greene said.

Biden had been given a button with Riley’s name by Rep. Greene but still said the wrong name while expressing condolences to Riley’s parents.

“Lincoln Riley. An innocent young woman who was killed by an illegal,” Biden said. “That’s right. But how many of thousands of people being killed by illegals?” he said.

“To her parents I say, my heart goes out to you, having lost children myself, I understand,” he said.

Republicans rejected Biden framing the bill, which could allow thousands of daily border crossings and provide amnesty, as tough on border security.

Tensions rose as Republicans chanted “build the wall” to protest Biden’s defense of the bill and what they see as a failure to secure the border.
