Ukraine’s first lady, Olena Zelenska, was invited to President Biden’s State of the Union address but declined.

The invitation was part of the push for more aid to Ukraine due to the recent anniversary of Russia’s invasion.

Yulia Navalnaya, widow of Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny, was also invited but couldn’t attend.

The first lady will now sit with Kate Cox, known for her legal battle over abortion rights in Texas, and the parents of detained journalist Evan Gershkovich will also be present.
