According to CNN exit polls, most voters supporting Nikki Haley in North Carolina and Virginia said their vote was mainly against her opponent rather than for her.

70% of Haley supporters in North Carolina and 69% in Virginia said this.

In contrast, 80% and 79% of Trump supporters in those states said their vote was mainly for him.

Half of Haley supporters also said they were not part of Trump’s MAGA movement.

After losing 14 of 15 Super Tuesday states, Haley suspended her campaign, acknowledging Trump will likely be the nominee.

She wished him well but said he must earn broader support.

“I am filled with the gratitude for the outpouring of support we’ve received from all across our great country. But the time is now come to suspend my campaign. I said I wanted Americans to have their voices heard. I have done that. I have no regrets,” Haley said.

“In all likelihood Donald Trump will be the Republican nominee when our party convention meets in July. I congratulate him and wish him well. I wish anyone well who would be America’s President,” she said, noting that Trump must “earn the votes of those in our party and beyond it who did not support him.”

Trump invited Haley and her backers to join his movement against Biden, whom he said is destroying the country.

“BIDEN IS THE ENEMY, HE IS DESTROYING OUR COUNTRY. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!!!” Trump wrote.
