A Gallup poll found a record 55% of Americans view large-scale illegal immigration as a critical threat, up from 50% in 2004.

More Americans now name immigration as the top problem facing the country over issues like the economy.

“The survey finds a record-high 55% of U.S. adults, up eight points from last year, saying that ‘large numbers of immigrants entering the United States illegally’ is a critical threat to U.S. vital interests,” Gallup reported.

Other surveys show strong public support for curbing migration at the southern border.

While 31% say immigration makes the US better off, 37% believe it makes it worse – nearly double the percentage from last June.

Republicans, non-college graduates and older Americans are more likely to have a negative view.

Sen. Rubio argued it’s not just immigration but a “mass migration” negatively impacting Americans.

“We’ve got to stop calling it ‘immigration,’” Sen. Marco Rubio said. “It’s not immigration. This is a Mass Migration … No other country in the world would tolerate it, and we are paying the price for it right now in real-time with real American victims.”

Critics argue the federal policy prioritizes business interests over communities by inflating the economy and stock prices through Extraction Migration.

However, outlets like the WSJ claim most support comprehensive reform, contrary to polling showing a plurality see legal and illegal immigration as making the nation worse off.

There is significant public concern over the impacts of large-scale migration.
