Rep. Adam Schiff was nearly drowned out by pro-Palestine protesters while giving his victory speech after winning the Democratic Senate primary in California.
As Schiff spoke, protesters loudly chanted “ceasefire now” in reference to the conflict in Gaza, reflecting tensions within the Democratic party over Israel policy.
“We are so lucky, so lucky to live in a democracy where we all have the right to protest,” Schiff said as activists drowned him out.
Adam Schiff’s Super PAC gave millions to Steve Garvey’s GOP campaign.
Down ballot races that would stay blue if Porter or Lee were the other nominee, are now up for grabs.

Schiff struggled to be heard over the chants before ending his speech prematurely.
The primary saw Schiff spend heavily on ads portraying his Republican opponent Steve Garvey as too conservative, a strategy criticized by some Democrats as elevating Garvey and potentially hurting other down-ballot races in November.
Schiff is expected to defeat Garvey in the general election given California’s Democratic tilt.
