Rep. Lauren Boebert’s 18-year-old son, Tyler Boebert, was arrested and faces 22 charges relating to vehicle trespassing and property theft in Rifle, Colorado.
Tyler Boebert faces four felony counts of criminal possession of a financial device and ID documents, as well as misdemeanor charges including ID theft and criminal trespassing.
The Police Department in Rifle, Colorado posted that Tyler Boebert was involved in a “recent string of vehicle trespass and property thefts”.
The arrest adds to personal troubles facing Lauren Boebert’s reelection campaign, which includes two arrests of her ex-husband Jayson Boebert within the past year on altercation charges and a temporary restraining order against him.
Lauren Boebert announced in 2022 that she would run in a new Colorado district in 2024, citing a desire for a “fresh start” amid the family issues, which could continue to dominate headlines and undermine her campaign message.
